Fatal Car Crash

A woman driving on Vesturlandsvegur towards Reykjavik collided head-on with a jeep on Sunday night. The jeep was overturned in the accident and caughtfire, and the three passengers managed to get out just in time. The woman in the car was still alive when the ambulance arrived but died before a rescue helicopter came to the scene.

 According to Selfoss Police, road conditions were excellent and the cause of the accident is yet unknown. Both vehicles were totally destroyed in the accident. The woman's name cannot yet be disclosed.
